One of my favorite things to do is to sit and watch geese as they go about their daily lives. To me there is nothing more relaxing than watching them swim or more heart warming than observing them care for their young.
The reference photo for this particuliar piece was photographed at Leaser Lake in Lynn Township Pa. Each year as soon as the weather began to warmed up after a long and blustery winter, my family and I would head out to the lake to fish, explore, picnic or just walk our dogs.
Every year at the same time, the geese would return to mate, lay their eggs & raise their young. Every year, I was out there photographing and observing their nature, habits & rituals. Because they were use to people being around, I was able to get fairly close them, except during nesting season.
I highly recommend to anyone who needs a day of peace & quite, to go pack a picnic lunch, a camara & find a nice lake. Do nothing, just sit and be. Observe the wonderous life around you and be in awe of it all. It is my wish for everyone, that they have at least one afternoon of this type of serenety each month.
